Principles of liquids working in heat engines.

چکیده
The thermodynamic and thermophysical properties of liquids suggest that they should be powerful working fluids in heat engines. Their use requires heat engines based conceptually on the Stirling and Malone principles. The principles are explained, and then experiments on propylene are presented that demonstrate the principles and confirm the thermodynamic analysis.

Modeling of Heat Losses Within Combustion Chamber of Diesel Engines
The cylinder working fluid mean temperature, rate of heat fluxes to combustion chamber and temperature distribution on combustion chamber surface will be calculated in this research. By simulating thermodynamic cycle of engine, temperature distribution of combustion chamber will be calculated by the Crank-Nicolson method. An implicit finite difference method was used in this code. Special treat...
متن کاملاحتراق ذرات سوخت زیستتوده در یک واحد تولید همزمان توان و حرارت مقیاس کوچک
Increasing energy cost and reduction of fossil fuel resources have been resulted in increasing demand of renewable energy, such as micro biomass particles in small scale Stirling engines to generate combined heat and power. In such Stirling engines, biomass particles are burnt in external combustion chamber and then, the generated heat is transferred to the working fluid of the engine cycle. Th...
متن کاملA steam Rankine cycle with two-stage pumping to enhance the waste heat recovery from internal combustion engines
In this research, a high-temperature Rankin cycle (HTRC) with two-stage pumping is presented and investigated. In this cycle, two different pressures and mass flow rates in the HTRC result in two advantages. First, the possibility of direct recovery from the engine block by working fluid of water, which is a low quality waste heat source, is created in a HTRC. Secondly, by doing this, the mean ...
متن کاملMechanical equivalent of quantum heat engines.
Quantum heat engines employ as working agents multilevel systems instead of classical gases. We show that under some conditions quantum heat engines are equivalent to a series of reservoirs at different altitudes containing balls of various weights. A cycle consists of picking up at random a ball from one reservoir and carrying it to the next, thereby performing or absorbing some work. In parti...
متن کاملPool boiling heat transfer coefficient of pure liquids using dimensional analysis
The pool boiling heat transfer coefficient of pure liquids were experimentally measured on a horizontal bar heater at atmospheric pressure. These measurements were conducted for more than three hundred data in thermal currents up to 350 kW.m-2. Original correlations and the unique effect of these correlations on experimental data were discussed briefly. According to the analysis, a new empirica...
